I am back from a wonderful week at home in New Mexico and was so inspired by the art, the fall colors, the beautiful vistas and the diverse cultures. This 9'x3' painting, just completed, is a reflection of that.

Tour of Homes

It's that time of year again. This is what I have been working for over the past six months. I will be showing nearly 30 paintings in two homes this weekend and next.Please come see these beautiful homes.If you have the tour guide, I will be showcasing my art in home #10 and #11. #10 is near the river across from Drake Park at 10 NW Rocklyn Road. #11 is a Pac West home in Tetherow; 61474 Weinhard Court.

I am lucky to live in a house with incredible views and my favorite thing is watching the thunder storms roll in. We sit on our deck at night in complete awe of it all!

Tart Review

My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing Tart's "soft opening" last night because, I am happy to say, my art is hanging there. Tart is a full service French Global inspired eatery and libation destination located in the heart of downtown Bend, OR. Their focus is to serve the freshest ingredients seasonally available and to pair them with craft beers, elegant wines from around the world, and masterfully crafted cocktails. The cuisine is carefully prepared with global techniques and exemplifies an artistic, hands-on approach that showcases local ingredients at a value-conscious price.

We thouroghly enjoyed our meal from the Pork Tenderloin Lollipops to the fabulous Creme Brulee. The flavors were exciting and the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend giving Tart a try!

Art Hop, downtown Bend

I am happy to announce that I will be showing my art downtown this Friday evening from 5-9 at two locations. I will have art at North Soles Footwear and Lowes Residential. North Soles is located next to Starbucks on Wall St. and Lowes is next to 28 on Minnesota. I would love for you to pop in and say hi. I will be going back and forth between the two locations.

Don't miss the Tour of Homes!

I am happy to announce that I am showing my art in three Tour Homes this year, along with a fourth that is Next to one of the homes. If you go, my art can be seen in #24,#26, and #40 in the Tour guide. If you go to #25, be sure to visit the house to the left of it as you face the front. This house will be open during the tour and is for sale. It is a really cool house to see. The Tour runs throughout this weekend beginning Friday at noon.

I visited some of the homes and these are my favorites: #24, Asian style, contemporary. Beautiful copper fireplace, bamboo floors, and some intersting tile work. Takara Treasures did a great job of staging this home and Jennifer Gold created some beautiful kimonos and linens for this home. #20, a contemporary home with lots of light and great colors and tile work. This home also has a beautiful courtyard. #21 is a must see. Nice interior design and amazing wine room.#31 is a historic renovation done beautifully. It has a beautiful courtyard and Jacquie of Garnish home staging did an excellent job on the interior finishes and design. #19 is worth seeing in Lost Tracks. My favorite thing about this home was the laundry room. If you get a chance to go out to Caldera Springs in Sunriver, go to #40. This is Northwest Lodge at its finest. Pac West always does an amazing job. I may be a little biased since I have 20 paintings in this home, but it really is beautiful!

"moon of the sea"

Cursed or meant to be????

You will not believe what just happened. The painting, "adrift", that I referred to earlier as one that I painted for a second time after it was slashed by another canvas falling on it is now also ruined. I had set it in my dining room on the buffet and meant to hang it later. The door to the deck was opened, the wind blew in, the painting crashed into the dining room chair and now has a hole of its own. Okay, I really lost it this time! I mean screaming, cussing, crying fit. What the heck???? Is this painting cursed? Should I ever paint it again?

I was thinking about my recent art show where I noticed a man totally engaged in this piece for about fifteen minutes. I didn't want to introduce myself,I didn't want to break his intrigue. I just got so much joy out of watching him. Maybe this painting has done its job, maybe it was only meant for that man who will forever remain nameless.

The Loft of Bend - Friday, June 5th, 5-9pm

Located downtown on the second floor of the new 919 Bond Street Building, this private social club is opening its doors to the public for the Friday Art Walk. "adrift" 40"x30"

I recently finished this painting for the second time. The first time I painted it, one of my other canvasses fell against it and left a large gash clear through. The paint was barely dry! I cried my eyes out over that one. It's never as rewarding to paint something a second time and it is always difficult to remember just how I came up with certain colors, but I am happy with the way this turned out. I hope you like it too.
